Women’s Tennis Team shuts down Warriors for 5th straight win!

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis Team hosted the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors today for another Conference Carolinas match.

The match kicked off with all courts competing in doubles events with The Lady Lions looking to get a jump start. Without wasting any time or dropping any games, the duo Cipriano / Silva kept their undefeated status in conference play with a quick win by 8-0 on court #3. In a similar scenario Raich / Kiderlen played a very effective match to grab a solid 8-1 win. On Court #1, the EC team had to push through a little bit more than their teammates but after a few long games, Botella / O'Connor gave Emmanuel a third point by 8-3.

With a comfortable 3-0 lead after doubles needed only two more to earn the overall win. The Junior Katharina Kiderlen put Emmanuel closer to the goal with a great baseline game from start to finish with a 6-1 6-3 win on court #5. Not too long later, Fantine Botella kept pressing her opponent with well placed forehands to clinch the event with a solid 6-1 6-2 victory. The Lady Lions also earned three extra wins this afternoon. First by the hands of the Junior Pearllan Cipriano, who just waited for her opponent to commit unforced errors to get a win by 8-1, followed by the Sophomore Victoria Silva who gave EC a 7th win and remained undefeated in singles play in conference matches with a solid 8-3 win. Lastly, the sole senior of the Women's Tennis Team this season, Abi Muesse finished the day with a 8-1 victory.

Coming up next, Emmanuel will test its winning streak this Saturday against the Limestone College Saints at another home event! First serve is scheduled for 2:30PM!
