Women’s Tennis Team dominates Crusaders for conference win!

Tigerville, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis Team traveled to face the North Greenville University Crusaders today for another Conference Carolinas match.

The Lady Lions were looking to earn a 5th conference win this season and a 3rd in away competitions this season. In doubles, Emmanuel earned a match by default on court #3 so the duo formed by Cipriano Silva were able to keep their energy tank full at the start of singles play. Raich / Kiderlen faced no problems and never dropped a single game before defeating their opponents by 8-0. On court #1 Botella / O'Connor had a slow start and a break down at 3-1 before finding their best tennis and clinch the third possible doubles point by 8-5.

After a 3-0 lead after doubles, the Lions also earned a win by default on court #6 so another victory would seal the deal for the visitors. The clincher came from the Senior Abi Muesse on court #5 by a dominant 6-0 6-0 win. Not too far after, Katharina Kiderlen dropped only one game for a 6-1 6-0 win on court #4. The sophomore Victoria Silva had to fight and play a lot of balls before giving EC a 7th point of the day by 7-5 6-3. The story was very different on the first two courts though. Fantine Botella dropped the first set in a very close tie-breaker but switched gears to get a win on court #1 by 6-7 6-2 10-3. With a similar story, Pearllan Cipriano fought hard and made her way to the net to get a 3-set victory by 3-6 6-3 10-4.

This marked the 5th victory for the Lions Tennis Team in Conference Play this Season!

Coming up next, Emmanuel will host the Southern Wesleyan Crusaders on Tuesday! First serve is scheduled for 1:00PM!
