Gaffney, SC – The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team traveled to Limestone College today with the difficult task of taking the currently undefeated Saints.

The event kicked off with doubles matches and EC had to fight a lot of service breaks and ups and downs, but the first point finally came in favor of the visiting Lions with a tight 8-6 win on court #1 with Botella/O'Connor. The Saints would eventually get the equalizer by capturing a win on court #2 and the last possible point came to court #3 with Cipriano/Silva. After earning a quick 5-0 lead, the Limestone duo switched strategies and fought their way back to tie the match. After long points, a match point saved, Limestone took the final doubles point to a tie-breaker. Emmanuel would take a 5-3 lead and have another match point on 6-5, but the Saints took the lead and the match by a tight 9-7 with a big serve to secure the second point of the day.

In the meantime, on court #1 Fantine Botella saw her opponent take a 4-1 lead in the first set, but she kept her undefeated singles streak, in conference play, by grabbing the win by 6-4 6-3.
