Lady Lions Sweeps Falcons for 6th straight conference win!

Franklin Springs, GA – Only a day after hosting the Belmont Abbey College Crusaders, the Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team served as host one more time, now for the Pfeiffer University Falcons for the third conference Carolinas match of the week.

The Doubles matches kicked off much better for the home team. The duo formed by Cipriano/Silva dominated their match on court #3, giving EC the first point of the day with a win by 8-0. Not too long later, Kiderlen/Raich also grabbed a win, by 8-2, and now Emmanuel was leading 2-0 in the overall score. In the meantime, on court #1, Botella/O'Connor had to battle for several games before they finally clinched a tight, but very important win by 8-6.

The Lady Lions were now ahead 3-0 after doubles, but fully aware of the challenge they had in front of them in singles play. The Sophomore Katharina Kiderlen did not waste any extra time to dispatch her opponent by a solid 6-1 6-0 to put Emmanuel a point away from clinching the overall win. Right after, the Freshman Maria Raich earned a win by 6-1 6-2 followed by Pearllan Cipriano on court #3 by 6-0 7-5. In the meantime, on court #1 Fantine Botella, had to fight for three tough sets to earn a win by 7-5 4-6 10-6. Victoria Silva on court #4 and Abi Muesse on court #6 also earned wins by 8-6 and 8-0, to complete the sweep.

The EC Lady Lions will now travel to Converse College for another Conference Carolinas match. First Serve is scheduled for 2:30PM!
