Women's Soccer Season Comes to an End with Loss Against Chowan in Quarterfinals

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Chowan University in their Conference Carolinas post season debut on Tuesday. After earning their way into the Conference Championship play-in match, the Lions clenched the #5 seed and were paired up against the #4 Chowan Hawks. In their regular season matchup, the Lions were defeated 1-0 at home.

How it Happened:

  • The Hawks capitalized just fifty seconds into the game when Sabrina Henderson broke away and played the ball into the far right post.
  • Chowan's Carolina Lucci further extended their lead when she tapped the ball into the goal off of an assist from Sabrina Henderson and Stephanie Quintanill.

The Lions had 8 shots, including 4 from Sophomore Lindsay Lee.

Despite their run towards the Conference Carolinas championship coming to an end, the ladies have ended their season with another historic feat; earning a spot in the Conference Carolinas quarterfinals in their first ever season of being eligible.

Congratulations to the women's soccer team on their impressive performance this season.
