Women's Soccer Falls Short to Belmont Abbey

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team came up short on Tuesday night against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders. Despite two more shots on goal than their opponent, the Lions lost 0-1.

The single goal of the night came just over thirteen minutes into the first half when Belmont Abbey's Cassidy Calhoun chested a pass from Morgan Patton into the left side of the net.

Sophomore Lindsay Lee led the Lions in shots with 4 including 3 on goal. Senior Hannah Welch tallied 4 saves in the ninety minutes of play.

This loss brings the Lions record to 5-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference.

The Lions will continue action on Saturday at home when they take on Chowan for another conference match at 12:00pm.
