Women’s Soccer Moves Forward in the Regional Tournament

Franklin Springs, GA - Last night the Emmanuel College Women's Soccer team played the Lady Ram's from Columbia International in the NCCAA South Regional Semi-finals. The winner would move on to play Southern Wesleyan for the Regional Title and National Tournament berth. Both teams have had a strong campaign for the 2017 season, playing quality opponents throughout the south.

Early in the match the Lady Lions were able to gain control on the ball while putting pressure on CIU's backline and GK. Quality performances by EC defensively allowed for success throughout the game and limited the Ram's from CIU to 3 total shots for the game. Lindsay Lee was able to convert one of the 15 team shots to the lone goal of the contest.

Second half saw both teams come out stronger and eager to gain control of the game. CIU was able to attempt 2 more shots on Marina Eisenhut but she was up to the challenge and kept the shutout for Emmanuel.

Mackenzie Miller lead the Lady Ram's with 2 shots and Sam Wammock recorded 6 total saves for the game. CIU wraps up their season with a record of 8-5-3

Emmanuel will host Southern Wesleyan University tomorrow, Saturday 11/18, at 5pm for the NCCAA South Regional Championship.
