Franklin Springs – GA. The Lady Lions captured their first win of the season today against King University from Tennessee. The Lady Lions took to the field with intensity and were determined to capitalize within the first half. Manueovering the ball well and holding the majority of the possession early, the Lady Lions had four opportunities within the first half to score, but unfortunately they were unlucky on every attempt.
However, in the second half, despite the lost opportunities to score earlier in the game, the Lady Lions came back pumped up and ready to play, which served them well. Two minutes into the second half came the first goal which was scored with an impressive header by the German freshman, Elisa Bornheimer who was assisted by junior, Hannah Watson. This goal gave the Lions a 1-0 lead, which gave them the momentum to finish strong and continue playing well. The second goal came from Stephanie Lamm with minutes to spare before the close of the game. After attempting to score twice earlier within the game, Lamm, was successful and scored the last goal of the game which lead the lions to their first within of the season.
