Lions Beat Bobcats by 5.

BANNER ELK, Nc. – The Emmanuel College Women's traveled to Banner Elk, Nc to take on the Lees-McRae bobcats on April 17th.

The bobcats took the first goal of the game, but the lions quickly answered back with three goals.

The scoring went back and forth in the first half and the lions were up by one goal going into half time with a score of 12-11.

Tara Larson opened the second half with two goals for the lions widening the gap in the score. Lees-McRae put one goal up on the board but was then answered by three more Emmanuel goals.

The rest of the second half went this way and Lees-McRae only put up 7 goals to Emmanuel's 11, giving Emmanuel the edge and allowing them to win the game with a score of 23-18.

Tara Larson had 10 goals for the lions, Megan Shortt had 8, Hanna Hernandez had 4, and Lara Russell had 1.

The Lady Lions ended the game with 10 ground balls, 13 turnovers, 37 attempted shots and 21 draw controls. Tiana Machado had 13 saves.

The Lady Lions will take on the Chowan University at home for their next game on April 20th.
