Women's Lacrosse Dominates Berry College

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse Team took on Berry College at home on March 13th.

The Lions dominated in the first half only allowing Berry three goal the entire half. The lions scored 9 goals from five different scorers. This made the score going into the half 9-5, Emmanuel.

In the half, Megan Shortt and Lara Russell had 3 goals, Tara Larson, Aleah Marijanich, and Hanna Hernandez all had one.

Megan Shortt scored the first goal to get the second half started to which Berry answered with two goals. Lara Russell scored another goal to which Berry answered again. Then, Aleah Marijanich scored another goal and Berry answered one last time.

The lions went on to score 5 unanswered goals to only be answered by 1 Berry goal.

The lions took the game by a landslide with a score of 18-8.

Megan Shortt had 9 goals for the lions, Lara Russell had 4, Tara Larson and Aleah Marijanich had 2, and Hanna Hernandez had 1.

The lions ended the game with 20 ground balls, 11 turnovers, 14 draw controls, and 40 shots. Tiana Machado and Emma Pow shared time in the net for the game and had 13 saves.  

The Lady Lions will take on Southern Wesleyan University in Central, Sc for their next game on March 17th.
