Lady Lions Lacrosse Down Stormy Petrals

Franklin Springs, GA – The Lady Lions hosted the Oglethorpe University for a non-conference game. The Lady Lions came out strong and played a dominant first half, scoring 13 goals and holding the stormy petrals to 3 goals. The second half they tied. The Lady Lions won for 16-6.

The Lady Lions came out strong in the first half, they did not give a chance for the other team. They scored 13 goals against 3. Tara Larson had an amazing participation in this game. The Lady Lions had one yellow cards issued, coming in the second half to Samantha Metzger. Also, the Lady Lions dominated draw controls by commanding 20 out of the 23 during the game.

On the offensive front,  Tara Larson  led the Lady Lions with 6 goals. Allie Brock  contributed 4 goals, and Aleah Marijanich contributed 2 goals. Lara Russell  led the team with 2 assists, and Tara Larson  led with 9 groundballs. Tara Larson also, had 9 out of the 20 draw controls for the Lady Lions.

Defensively, Kamaia Gaylen led the team in caused turnovers claiming 4 out of the team total of 19. In the goal for 50:02 minutes, Emma Pow had 7 saves out of 12 shots taken against her. She also was credited with 1 caused turnover and 1 groundball. For 9:08 minutes Tiana Machado had 1 save out of 2 shots taken against her. The team successfully completed 20-24.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Saturday, April 8th at 4:00 PM at Emmanuel College.
