Franklin Springs, GA – Another member of the Lions' Women's Lacrosse team, Allie Brock, has just returned from representing the institution overseas in the 2016 UK Lacrosse Tour with American International Sports Teams (AIST). Brock is a rising senior who has been a team captain for the last 2 seasons and a statistical leader in ground balls and shot percentage among the Lady Lions. AIST makes selections for their international teams based on performances from statistical data and recommendations sent by college coaches.
Brock will competed alongside 13 Division II and Division III women's lacrosse players from all over the country, including Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and California. The team is led by Jack Cribbin, current Head Coach at Lindenwood University in St. Lois, MO. Cribbin will begin his 12th season at Lindenwood where he holds a perfect 35-0 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and finished 4th in the nation for the last 3 seasons.
AIST's UK Lacrosse Tour began with the team landing in Dublin, Ireland on July 26 where they will spent the first three nights of the trip. The team then traveled to compete in both Chester, England and Edinburgh, Scotland. Brock's team competed in 2 exhibition games and 5 tournament games throughout the week, in addition to leisurely time suited for guided tours, excursions and sightseeing.
Brock is returning to the United States today, just in time for the first day of classes which begin on August 8. Our thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be with Brock and her team during this exciting time of competition and travel.
