FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Emmanuel Women's Basketball team hosted the NCCAA South Region Tournament and came out on top in day two with a win, 64-41, over Carver Bible College.
The Lady Lions took a quick lead in the first half just to have Carver come right back and be under two points going into the second quarter. The ladies started off with a 10-12 lead, but Carver tied the game 12-12. After a few quick shots from Mikayla Trombley, Lochlain Corliss, and Avery Scarbrough the Lady Lions led 13-24 going into the half. Carver was never able to regain the lead against Emmanuel when the ladies went on a scoring spree after adding 17-points to the board while Carver added nine. Emmanuel entered the final quarter up nineteen points, 22-41. Many points for the Lady Lions were free throws from Emily Dreslinski, Brooke Whitaker, and Genesis Jones. Carver scored a final 3-pointer to end the game, but it was not enough to take the lead. The Lady Lions won the NCCAA South Region Tournament with a final score, 41-64.
The Lady Lions will head to Lake Winona, IN to compete in the NCCAA DI National Championship hosted at Grace College. The tournament will begin on Wednesday, March 14th.
