Lady Lions Continue Win Streak against Converse

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Emmanuel Women's Lady Lions continued their win streak dominating the Converse Valkyries winning at home. With eight minutes left in the fourth quarter the Lady Lions were up 29-points, but won the game, 60-80.  

Taylor Delasbour led the Lady Lions in scoring with 19-points in her twenty-three minutes of playing time. Ajah Taylor led the ladies with 8-rebounds, 5 offensive and 3 defensive. Emmanuel led the game in every way except turnovers, converse having eight.

Scoring in the first quarter started off slowly for Emmanuel and Converse with the score 6-8 at the halfway mark. Genesis Jones pushed the ladies up by 8-points with her buzzer beater layup to end the first quarter. Emily Dreslinski and Hanna Grogan entered the game to both add two points to the board. Converse got called for fouls sending Ajah Taylor and Mikayla Trombley to the line. Emily Dreslinski drove down the court to score the final layup putting the Lady Lions up, 23-36.

Mikayla Trombley started off the third quarter with back-to-back shots. Taylor Delasbour followed pushing the ladies up by 15-points. The Lady Lions continued to push forward to go into the fourth quarter up by 15-points, 33-58. With eight minutes left in the game, the Lady Lions had their largest lead, 33-62. Taylor Delasbour kept swinging 3-pointers throughout the last minutes of the game. The quarter ended with a foul against Mari Jonassen, putting the final score at 60-80.

The Lady Lions now hold an overall record of 13-7, with a conference record of 8-6. The ladies will compete away at Limestone on Saturday, February 10th at 5:30 PM.
