Franklin Springs, G.A.- The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team took on the Southern Wesleyan Warriors. The ladies defeated Southern Wesleyan 61-80. This evening was the last home game for the team and it was senior night for Timia Reynolds and Elise Coberly. Elise Coberly and Timia Reynolds both stepped off the court with an exceptional performance. Timia Reynolds led the ladies in scoring with 21-points and Elise Coberly was right behind with 20-points. Both ladies had a great season overall. Timia Reynolds averaged 13 points per game with completing 44% of her shots. Elise Coberly sat the same overall in her season with averaging 13 points per game with a completion rate of 44%.
Elise Coberly started out the first quarter with a layup off an offensive rebound. Timia Reynolds put up the next good shot for two points followed by Avery Scarbrough. The Lady Warriors kept up with the Lady Lions with the score 7-6. Timia Reynolds made a layup to pull the ladies in front. She was fouled and missed her free throw. Avery Scarbrough was fouled and made one free throw. Elise Coberly made a layup off an offensive rebound. Lochalin Corliss charged down the court to clear a layup without an assist. Timia Reynolds made a layup and the ladies were back in the lead 10-15. Mikayla Trombley made a layup followed by the first 3-pointer of the game by Elise Coberly. The first quarter ended with the ladies up 14-22.
The second quarter started out with a layup from Timia Reynolds and the Lady Warriors trying to make a comeback. Ashlyn Loudermilk entered the game and was fouled. She cleared both of her free throws. Genesis Jones stole the ball from SWU and was fouled. She did not make any extra points for the ladies. Genesis Jones charged back down the court to make a layup and get fouled once again. She made her free throw bringing the ladies up 23-29. Ashlyn Loudermilk was covered, but managed to still clear her layup. Elise Coberly made a jump shot and a free throw to end the second quarter. The Lady Lions lead the Lady Warriors 26-34.
Timia Reynold started out the third quarter with a layup. Timia Reynolds stole the ball from SWU passing to Lochlain Corliss for two points. Lochlain Corliss was fouled and made her free throw. Timia Reynolds was fouled and made one of her two free throws. Elise Coberly charged down the court to make a jump shot. Mikayla Trombley made her first 3-pointer of the game bringing the ladies up 31-45. Elise Coberly made two more 3-pointers bringing the ladies up 34-53. Scoring got quiet on both sides, but Timia Reynolds was fouled to gain two points for the ladies. The third quarter ended with the ladies up 36-55.
Taylor Delasbour started out the third quarter with a jump shot and her first 3-pointer of the game. Ashlyn Loudermlk was fouled and made one of her free throws. Timia Reynolds snagged an offensive rebound to put up two points. The Lady Lions now lead 39-63. Taylor Delasbour made a layup and was fouled to add an extra point to the board. Timia Reynolds came out with a fancy move to put up another layup. Timia Reynolds put up a layup to bring the ladies up 46-72. With four minutes left, a new set of five entered the game for the ladies. Abigal Defabio snagged an offensive rebound and Ajah Taylor made a layup for the ladies. Sydney Nash drove down the court to add two points to the board. Jenesai Mohammed put up her first 3-pointer of the game. Timia Reynolds and Elise Coberly entered the game for a few more seconds to leave their last home game. The game will end with the Lady Lions victorious 61-80.
The Lady Lions now an overall record of 14-11, with a Carolina Conference record of 11-9. The Lady Lions will play their last game against Erskine. That game will begin at 5:30 P.M.
