Franklin Springs, Ga- The Lady Lions took on Mount Olive tonight. The ladies played a good game, but did not pull out a victory against Mount Olive. The game saw the most points brought out by Elise Coberly and Mikayla Trombley.
In the first quarter of the game, we saw Coberly put up the first points of the game with her first 3-pointer of the night. Mikayla Trombley and Avery Scarbrough came through next putting the ladies back in the lead, 7-6. Bringing the quarter to a close, Elise Coberly makes her third 3-pointer of the quarter, bringing the score 19-14.
The second quarter started out with good defense on both sides. Kashlyn Loudermilk put her first points up of the game after getting a rebound. Elise Coberly was on fire and proved it as she put up 7 more points, including another 3-pointer, and ended the quarter again. The ladies played a good quarter, but were trailing Mount Olive 32-30.
Lochlain Corliss started out the third quarter followed by Timia Reynolds, bringing the score to 36-34, still trailing Mount Olive by two. Mount Olive played good defense, but Mikayla Trombley pulled through and tied the game up, 38-38. The ladies were not able to pull out a lead, but Jenesai Mohammed brought the ladies back up and only trailling by one point with her 3-pointer. The ladies played hard, but Mount Olive led the Lady Lions 55-49.
Defense was the name of the game for the fourth quarter. Only 4 points were scared in the first 8 minutes of the quarter, the ladies trailing by ten with the score 59-49. Mikayla Trombley put up three layups and Avery Scarbrough with one jump shot, but the ladies were unable to gain the lead on Mount Olive. Mount Olive beat the Lady Lions 64-57.
The Lady Lions now have a record of 1-3 with a conference record of 0-1. The ladies will have a break for Thanksgiving and will return playing at home against Lees-McRae on Tuesday Nov. 29th. The game will begin at 5:30 P.M.
