Max Owen Signs With Clay Target Team

Max is a graduating Senior at Newnan High School in Newnan, Georgia. He began shooting competitively with the Fayette County 4H SAFE BB team, where he placed fourth in Prone position at the 2012 Georgia State BB Championship out of 550 competitors with a 99/100.  As soon as he was eligible, he joined the Fayette County 4H SAFE Shotgun team, where he ultimately served as Secretary, Vice President, and President.  Max competes in Trap, Sporting Clays, and Skeet, having gained most of his large tournament experience in Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) registered events.

 

Max is the 2019 Georgia Junior Captain of the ATA AIM All-State Trapshooting Team.  He finished the 2017-2018 season with the 2nd highest combined average of all Georgia registered ATA shooters* with a 96.9% in Singles, 90.32% in Handicap, and 92.35% in Doubles, shooting a total of 6,700 registered targets.  In the 2018 Grand American World Championships of Trapshooting, Max was Junior Champion of the Blaser Handicap event, Junior Runner Up of the Kreighoff Handicap, and Junior Third in the Super 500 Handicap.  Over the past few years, Max has won numerous trophies in several State and Zone ATA Championship events, including Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Wyoming, and Montana.  He also won 3 trophies in the 2016 Grand American World Championship as a Sub-Junior.

 

In 2017 he was accepted into and attended the West Point Society of DC Leadership & Ethics Conference.  Max is an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing whenever and wherever possible.  He enjoys mentoring and coaching youth and adult shooters alike at 4H and his local range.
