FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Emmanuel College Clay Target welcomes Austin Cosper to the 2018-19 Roster!

Cosper is a graduating senior at Walnut Grove HS in Walton County, Georgia. Having been involved in competitive shooting sports since 2009 with the Walton County 4-H programs, Cosper brings a deep resume along with him. He began shooting on the Walton County 4-H BB Team at age of 9 and competed for 3 years. During that tenure, he competed at the Daisy National BB Gun Match twice in Rogers Arkansas (7th place overall team in 2013), and in 2013 was the Georgia 4-H Overall Individual State Champion, State Champion in Kneeling, and was on the State Championship Team. Cosper has been designated as a "BB Gun Master Marksman". Also in 2013 he broke a long standing N.R.A. National Record in the Prone Position for BB (15 M target, prone position; 100 +19x) which he still holds to date.

Most recently, Austin has been part of the Walton County 4-H Shotgun Team where in 2016, he was part of the Georgia 4-H State Championship Modified Trap Team. As a result of the teams State Championship, he has achieved Master Status with Georgia 4-H. Additionally, he has served diligently for 2017-2018 as the National 4-H Youth Shooting Sports Ambassador for Georgia where he has spoken to schools, U.S. Congressman Jody Hice as well as had an interview aired worldwide regarding youth and firearms training and competition on the Voice of America News Network.

Cosper is an avid outdoorsman and spokesman for proper firearm exposure, training, education and 4-H youth program involvement. He recently stated "4-H offers proper firearm exposure in controlled environments, supports local laws, develops responsible outdoorsmen and ultimately will develop the next wave of Wildlife Conservationists which I am proud to have been some small part of. I wouldn't have traded this experience for anything!"

Cosper will kick off his collegiate career when the Clay Target Shooting Team resumes action next fall.
