Lions Continue Win Streak Against Columbia International

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College Men's Soccer Team took on the Columbia International Rams on Wednesday nights game. Coming back from a fresh win against conference foe King, the Lions hoped to keep the streak going.

In the first period Emmanuel and Columbia International both had 8 shots. Freshman Joeseph Bell (#5) managed to put the Lions on the board with an assist from Channing Park (#22) to take the lead. The Lions would hold onto the lead until the second period.

After returning back to the field, the Rams began putting pressure on the Lions. With just under 20 minutes left, the Rams had a quick shot that goal keeper Andy Dunnett (#1) was able to deflect, but Paul Grandacarpio from Columbia International capitalized on the deflect and scored to tie up the match.

With 11:30 left in the game, Emmanuel would once again take the lead thanks to a goal from Michael Williams Jr. (#13). Naeem Johnson (#3) had the assist.

While the Lions hoped to hold off the Ram's, they allowed them to tie up the score at 2-2. Victor Maron (#12) had his third goal of the season to force the game to overtime.

In the final minute of overtime it looked like the game would end in a tie. with 3 seconds left in the game, Marcus Larsen (#21) crossed the ball to Craig Russel (#8) who then used his final opportunity to to take a shot, score and win the game for Emmanuel.
