Daytona Beach, FL - The men's soccer team defeated Embry-Riddle University in their last regular season match of the season with a score of 2-0.
The Lions were able to take control of the game early with the first goal for the Lions being scored by Blair Springhall in the 18th minute, receiving the pass from Danny Cameron and beating two defenders to score the goal.
In the second half both teams went back and forth with procession of the ball, fighting for a shot on goal. The Lions once again was able to find the back of the net, scoring their second goal scored by Jacob Queen in the 73rd minute with an assist by Deibyd Contreras. This was his first goal of the season.
Andrew Dunnett made one save, and Dunnett along with the Lions' defense earned their seventh shutout of the season. The men finished their season 11-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
They will now focus their efforts on preparing for the NCCAA Regional tournament, which will be hosted at Emmanuel. This is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 18th.
