Franklin Springs, GA - The Lions soccer team defeated Pensacola Christian tonight 2-0.
The men's soccer team defeated Pensacola Christian College this evening for their fifth win in a row. The Lions came out from the start taking over the game and fighting for every play. Halfway through the first half, Danny Cameron scored the first goal of the match for Emmanuel in the 26th minute, giving the Lions the lead. Emmanuel would go on to take five more shots, but none found the net, leaving the score at the end of the first half 1-0.
Going into the second half the Lions would continue taking the momentum of the game fighting for every ball. Emmanuel maintained this lead throughout the second half, and within the last few minutes, Jeremy Gwaltney scored the Lions' second goal of the match, with an assist by Deibyd Contreras. The Lions finished the game with a final score of 2-0, increasing their overall record to 6-5.
The men will be playing another home match on Saturday, October 15, at 5 p.m.
