Lions Lacrosse Grab Win Over Shorter University

Rome, Ga – The Lions went to the Shorter University for their first win on the season. It was a balanced game, with good times for both teams but the Lions managed to impose themselves and leave with the victory for 10-9.

The Lions won the first (2-1) and third quarter (3-2). The second one they tied (3-3) and lost the fourth (3-2), but sufficient to came out with the victory. The Lions spent 2 minutes 30 seconds on 5 infractions. Also, they had 2 fouls. 

On the offensive front, Keaton Underhill led the Lions with 3 goals. Tyler Machado  and Austin Brundage  contributed 2 goals and 1 assistant each one, and Matt Casey and Tanner Smith  contributed 1 goal each. Camren Bent  led the team with 2 assists, and Tyler Machado led with 8 groundballs. 

Defensively, Todd Maas  and Luke Harris  led the team in caused turnovers claiming 2 each out of the team total of 9. In the goal for the entire 60 minutes, Luke Harris  had 11 saves out of 20 shots taken against him. He also was credited with 1 groundball. The team successfully completed 15-18 clears while only having 2 fouls.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, April 1st at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel College.
