FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Emmanuel College Men's Basketball Lions welcomed the Lees-McRae Bobcats onto their home court with a victory 91-78, just shortly after the Lions suffered a tough 2-point loss a little over a week ago at Lees.
Emerson McClung scored his season high of 23-points. Kendrick Colvin – 17 points – and Derek Vandiver – 15 points – followed behind. Kurtis Robinson had 10-rebounds, 9 defensive and 1 offensive. The guys all worked together to pull off a comeback victory.
The Lions came out quick with scoring 20-points in the first 10-minutes of the first half. Kendrick Colvin made a slam dunk that shot electricity through the crowd. Derek Vandiver followed with his second 3-pointer, which would keep going throughout the game. The Lions held a tight defense ending the first half up 44-51.
The Bobcats came back to tie the game then Kendrick Colvin blocked a shot leading to a foul by Lees-McRae. The score stayed close until Emerson McClung made a 3-pointer to pull the Lions ahead. Following him was Brandon Simpson and Kurtis Robinson. Derek Vandiver led the Lions to a 10-point lead with back-to-back 3-pointers. The Lions held back the Bobcats for a comeback victory, 78-91.
The Lions now hold an overall record of 11-8, with a conference record of 5-4. The Lions will play at home Saturday, January 27th at 4:00 PM.
