Lion Offense Quiet for the First Time This Season

ALBANY, Ga. - After two exciting wins on the road the Emmanuel Baseball Team headed into Sunday afternoon with confidence and a sweep on their minds. The Lions offense would strike first on a two out RBI single by Jake Nichols, scoring DeMetrius Foster. With the offense looking to extend the lead with runners at second and third the Ram pitcher was able to induce a fly out to end the third inning. The ASU offense wasted no time answering back as they started the bottom of the third with two walks and an infield single to load the bases for their four hole hitter. With a 3-2 count the batter connected with a deep fly ball over the right field wall to give the home team a 4-1 lead. The Lion bullpen would come on in the fourth and pitch 5 innings of scoreless baseball, giving the offense a chance to mount another come back. Although they threatened a few times, the Lions were unable to push any more runs across and lost the final game of the series 5-1.
