EC Lions ready for USA Outdoor Nationals!

Lansing, Michigan – The 2016 U.S. National Outdoor Collegiate Championships kicked off this afternoon with an official practice. The event will host over 300 archers competing from 37 different schools around the nation.

Emmanuel College will be looking to upset the top contenders, James Madison University and Texas A&M University for the National Team Championships Title. With a 6th place finish last season, Emmanuel Archery is hoping to move up the ranks with Indoor and Regional titles in multiple divisions over both Men and Women's divisions.  Further, Emmanuel archery has earned All Region Team and All Region Academic honors with Claire Estrada placing first in the nation in All Academic which is comprised of an indoor, regional and GPA calculation.

EC Lions Head Coach Estrada has worked hard to fill a squad in each of the 4 divisions Compound, Bowhunter, Olympic Recurve and Barebow for both Men and women's teams. Deep talent from Caleb Shealy in bow hunter, Isaiah Gardenhire and Claire Estrada in compound and Kaleb Dorow and Rachel Burge in Olympic Recurve, Estrada is confident in a strong performance in this year's Nationals.

Coach Estrada commented, "we hope to show our faith in our sportsmanship and our performances regardless of how we place."

EC returns Home Monday after a grueling week of daily competition through to next Sunday.
