MEN SWIMMING IN 1ST ON DAY 1 SEWANEE INVITE

 

Sewanee, TN --- The Men's swimming team is competing in the 18th annual Sewanee Invitational in Sewanee, TN. Six teams are competing (Sewanee, Milligan, Birmingham-Southern, LaGrange, Warren Wilson, Emmanuel) in this year's invitational.

 

 

 

How it happened:

 

In the 100 medley relay, the A relay (Rosa, Courteaux, Mendes, Brown) finished 1st in a meet record (44.77)

 

In the 50 breast, Theo Courteaux 1st (27.73) Sebastian Riano 2nd (28.15) Robert Jones 6th (29.87) David Brown 7th (30.12) Rafael Mendes 8th (30.23) Alisdair McGhee 9th (30.63) Harrison Andrews 18th (32.69)

 

 

 

In the 50 back, Thiago Rosa finished 1st in a meet record (24.01) Ander Arruabarrena 4th (25.48) Hunter Hayes 6th (26.14) Robert Jones 7th (26.23) Simon Roberts 15th (30.53)

 

In the 100 IM, Sebastian Riano 1st (55.96) Hunter Hayes 4th (56.94) Alisdair McGhee 5th (59.33) Harrison Andrews 15th (1:04.52)

 

 

 

In the 50 fly, Thiago Rosa finished 1st (23.22) Rafael Mendes 2nd (23.86) Ander Arruabarrena 3rd (24.72) David Brown 5th (25.02) Theo Courteaux 7th (25.32)  Simon Roberts 16th (29.30)

 

In the 100 free relay, the A relay (Arruabarrena, Hayes, Jones, Riano) finished 2nd (43.04)

 

In the 1650 free, Stanislas Raczynski finished 1st in a new meet and pool record (16:04.97)

 

 

 

The Lions are in first place with 369 points, second Sewanee with 286 points, third Milligan with 223. Tomorrow the Lions are back in action for day 2. GO LIONS!
