WOMEN’S SWIMMING MOVES TO 5-0

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. ---- The Emmanuel College women's swimming team started out the season with a first-place finish at the 5th Annual Emmanuel Invite on Saturday. The Lady Lion's defeated Life, Point, Lagrange, Bethel, and Hollins in dual meet action, winning 9 out of the 11 events contested.

 

Top 3 EC finishers in each event:

In the 200 medley relay, the A relay (Hunter, Ribeiro, Hayes, Ostojska) finished 1st (1:53.86) the B relay (Scharff, Pieterse, Harkness, Simioni) finished 2nd (1:59.50)

In the 1000 free, Juana Mafla finished 1st (11:25.31) Natalie Quintero-Rodriguez 2nd (11:28.35)

In the 200 free, Karolina Ostojska finished 1st (2:00.78) Mateja Svonja 3rd (2:06.52)

In the 50 free, Carmen Arnold finished 1st (25.42) Juliana Ribeiro 2nd (25.52)

In the 200 IM, Anna Calka finished 2nd (2:17.31) Julia Simioni 3rd (2:17.32)

 

In the 100 fly, Natalie Hayes finished 1st (1:00.61)

In the 100 free, Juliana Ribeiro 1st (56.03) Natalie Quintero-Rodriguez 2nd (57.18) Carmen Arnold 3rd (57.56)

In the 100 back, Mateja Svonja finished 1st (1:02.10) Allison Hunter 2nd (1:02.50) Lydia Scharff 3rd (1:04.94)

In the 500 free, Juan Mafla finished 1st (5:29.51)

 

In the 100 breast, Anna Calka finished 3rd (1:11.69)

In the 200 freestyle relay, the A relay (Svonja, Hunter, Ostojska, Arnold) finished 1st (1:42.86) the B relay (Duarte, Mafla, Quintero-Rodriguez, Hayes) finished 2nd (1:49.35) 

 

The women's swimming team will return to action Saturday, October 20th, with another home meet, this time Vs. Berry College. GO LIONS!
