Price and McGhee Named Athletes of the Week

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - This week's Athletes of the Week are Hanon Price of Baseball and Alasdair McGhee of Men's Swimming.

Price, a senior from Jefferson, Georgia is the starting left fielder for the Lions. Last week Price helped the Lions go 3-1 with his stellar performance at bat. His stats included a 0.733 batting average, 0.778 on base percentage, 9 runs scored, 2 home runs, 2 B, 3 BB, and 2 stolen bases.

McGhee is a freshman from Ayrshire, Scotland who swims IM and back for the Lions swim team. Recently, Alasdair competed in the 2018 Triathlon Collegiate National Championships, held on the campus of the University of Alabama. Due to high rains, the river was unsafe for competition and the swimming portion was canceled. The race was changed to a 5k run, 40k bike, 5k run. There were 1,133 competitors in the Olympic distance event, from 122 collegiate teams around the United States. McGhee was the top EC finisher with a time of 2 hours, 27 minutes, 51 seconds, finishing 588th.
